A 32 year veteran of screen and stage, Joy Tanner brings practical and caring experience to her teaching environments. Engaging in active listening and dialogue to ascertain students’ needs, she offers a variety of tools, so individuals can ultimately specialize when they need to. Having taught students from ages 16 to 72, she’s created playful and brave spaces in high schools, the Second City and in her private workshops known as The Actor’s Playground. Joy engages in a psycho-physical methodology that leans into the world of imagination and “what if” scenarios for students to explore and digest age appropriate material.
